Sexual Health in Foster Care

Monday, June 3, 2024

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

Sexual Health in Foster Care examines reproductive and sexual health in relationship to Child Welfare System youth. Foster and older adopted kids often have higher rates of risky sexual behavior, negative sexual health outcomes & sexual exploitation. They often become sexually active earlier than their peers, without being emotionally or physically ready to deal with the potential challenges this can create. This training will help participants better understand the sexual health needs of youth with a background of trauma and how they can help meet those needs.

Facilitated by Zia Freeman, MA, LMHC Community Educator with Coordinated Care
