A Year of Giving Back: Coordinated Care Reflects on Community Engagement & Impact Across Washington

Date: 02/24/26

Coordinated Care staff donated 1,600+ hours of service to dozens of local organizations in 2025 to transform the health of Washington's communities, one person at a time.

TACOMA, Wash. (February 24, 2025) – Coordinated Care, a leading managed care organization in Washington and wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), today reflected on the organization's deep partnerships with local community organizations across Washington and how Coordinated Care staff continue to go above and beyond to make an impact in the communities they serve.

In 2025 alone, Coordinated Care's staff participated in over 1,600 hours of community service at over 70 local volunteering events, packed nearly 134,000 pounds of food for those in need and contributed more than $20,000 in donations to local causes. At key moments across the year – including National Volunteer Month, National Apple Day and during the holidays – Coordinated Care employees continued to step up and serve their communities with local partners across the state.

"As we kick off 2026, we are taking a moment to reflect on the incredible partnerships we’ve built and the dedication of our team to driving meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to our state," said Coordinated Care President & CEO Beth Johnson. "We pride ourselves on our team’s commitment to this work – giving back is central to Coordinated Care’s mission. That's because we know the key to Medicaid's success is that it goes beyond a visit to the doctor. By investing in the future of Washington and meeting people where they are, we can ignite real, systemic change for generations to come."

Backed by the country’s most sophisticated Medicaid Managed Care Organization, Coordinated Care combines national, award-winning best practices with local expertise to deliver high quality healthcare to Apple Health enrollees. With employees who live in the communities they serve, often with personal experiences that reflect those of Coordinated Care’s members, this drives the organization's ability to provide managed care with a local, personalized touch. By coupling this with preventative care that supports the whole individual, Coordinated Care works to ensure that members can get healthy, stay healthy and live their lives to the fullest.

"Coordinated Care has been one of our most generous supporters in our work to advance care that recognizes the connection between mental health, education and long-term wellness," said Therapy Fund Foundation Founder & CEO Ashley McGirt. "They have risen to the occasion time and time again as a trusted leader driving community-focused solutions aimed at expanding the next generation of healthcare workers and improving access to mental healthcare for all Washingtonians. We simply couldn’t do this work without them."

This work builds on Coordinated Care's long-term commitment to improving the health of Washington’s communities, as outlined in its 5-Year Community Impact Report. With nearly $9 million given to support 150+ local partners and projects statewide, Coordinated Care’s investments are intentionally designed to strengthen Washington’s communities and make real progress on the most pressing healthcare priorities in the state across three key areas: addressing social drivers of health, advancing health equity and strengthening the capacity of the healthcare system to serve more patients. This report features the results of these initiatives along with the organization’s advocacy efforts and innovative member programs focused on helping all Washingtonians thrive.
