Date: 07/16/25

TACOMA, Wash. (July 16, 2025) – Coordinated Care, a leading managed care organization in Washington and wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), released their first 5-Year Community Impact Report today – highlighting the organization's long-term commitment to improving the health of Washington’s communities through $8.6 million in investments supporting local partners and projects statewide.

Backed by the country’s most sophisticated Medicaid Managed Care Organization, Coordinated Care combines national, award-winning best practices with local expertise to deliver high quality healthcare to Apple Health (Medicaid) enrollees, including some of the most vulnerable populations. The 5-year lookback reflects on the tangible impact the organization has made through collaboration with community partners by focusing on three key areas: addressing social drivers of health, advancing health equity, and strengthening the capacity of the healthcare system to serve more patients.

"As Coordinated Care celebrates our 13th anniversary serving Washingtonians, we remain as committed as ever to influencing health and wellness well beyond a visit to the doctor," said Coordinated Care President & CEO Beth Johnson. "This report is a direct reflection of that commitment – and how effective it is to combine the expertise of managed care organizations with the power of trusted, community-based organizations to address critical health needs. I'm incredibly proud of our collective efforts."

Over the past 5 years, Coordinated Care intentionally focused on investments designed to strengthen communities and address the most pressing healthcare priorities in the state, including:

  • Opening Doors to Healthcare Careers: Established the Coordinated Care Community Scholarship program to support first-generation, underrepresented and BIPOC students entering the healthcare field
  • Putting Millions of Healthy Meals on Tables: Provided over 18 million meals, including medically tailored meals for those with chronic illnesses
  • Supporting Youth with Trauma-Informed Care: Expanding holistic, trauma-informed care for thousands of children and youth in foster care through the Foster Care Centers of Excellence designation
  • Bringing Telehealth to Schools: Installing telehealth stations for school districts to increase behavioral health access for students
  • Supporting Moms in Need: Providing virtual doula services for pregnant members statewide

The report features the results of these initiatives along with Coordinated Care’s advocacy efforts and innovative member programs designed to help every Washingtonian reach their full health potential.

"Our partnership with Coordinated Care started several years ago with their support of our programs that serve people throughout Washington with food support, nutritional counseling and education, and medical tailored meals, which are designed specifically to address chronic health conditions," said Erica Sessle, former CEO of Lifelong, a long-term partner. "Coordinated Care has been there every step of the way—volunteering alongside our team and ensuring we have the tools and resources we need to help those who need it most."
